A Couple Canva Tips

Recently, one of my previous clients reached out to me to write a piece in her email newsletter for fellow business owners giving some Canva tips.

This is what I wrote:

About me

Hi, I'm Sarah from Blueberry Digital! I support small service-based businesses with their online presence through social media management, graphic design and website design. I've been running my small business for over 5 years now. Whilst I use a variety of programs for designing, my most commonly used program is Canva for sure. This year I have been volunteering as a Canva Canvassador in the Canva Design Circle Facebook group helping people with their Canva design questions. This has been a great way to give back to the DIY design community.

Hidden Canva Gems

Looking for a hidden Canva gem?

Here's a few little hidden gems in Canva that are worth looking at if you haven't seen them before:

1. Did you know that you can embed Canva presentations into your website? Simply design the presentation slides in Canva and when you go to share, select "embed" and then you'll have the code you can add to your website.

2.  Have you looked at the "apps" section in Canva yet? There's some really great ones in there. Over the last 6 months or so, there have been a couple of new frame-creating apps added. So now you can make any image into a frame, or make text into a frame. I also like the wave generator, gradient generator, typecraft, pattern-making and mockups apps too.

3. Canva AI image generator. Even though Canva has a really large range of images and illustrations, sometimes you can't find quite the right one. The AI image generator is pretty good (although sometimes you do get the odd weird picture). I like that you can choose the illustration or picture style you're after.

4. The Canva whiteboard is pretty handy too. It's got some fun features like sticky notes and you can set a timer for discussion/brainstorming. You can also create a flow chart, edit it live with your team and the canvas can keep on expanding as much as you need it to if you've got loads of ideas.
